Wes Donica Obituary

Wes Donica, 83, a longtime resident of Mt Vernon, TX passed away at his home, October 25, 2019. He was born July 29, 1936 in Nashoba, OK to the late Dalton Carl and Marie Dill Donica.  Mr. Donica married his loving wife of 53 years, Jewel Lorene Smith, on May 16, 1959 in Ludlow, OK.  He attended Pine Hill CP Church in Winnsboro, TX. He worked as an equipment mechanic and enjoyed time spent hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jewel on May 14, 2013; two sisters, Zora Donica and Myrtle Eargle.
He is survived by one son, Carl Donica and wife Sheila of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Debbie Allen and husband Steve of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Ryan Allen, Caitlyn Stroman and husband Steven, Amanda Meier and husband Zak and Jordanne Donica, all of Mt Vernon; great grandchildren, Dalton Stroman, Riley Meier, Taylor Meier; brother, Noel Donica of OK; sisters, Terry Taylor of Canton, TX, Arlene Weddle of Winnsboro, TX; Mona Pepper and husband Kenneth of Winnsboro, TX; and Glenda Barnard of Lone Star, TX; brother in law, Bill Hawthorne of Marshall, TX; sister in law, Judy Steed and husband Ricky of Mt. Vernon and sister in law Martha Smith of Smithville, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, TX.  Funeral service will follow visitation at 10:00 am.  Interment will be at Providence Cemetery.
