Ann was born on January 28, 1929, to Emil and Annie (Maralik) Gelner in Grandfield, Oklahoma. She married Hurshel V. Luck on May 3, 1979, in Austin, Texas.
Ann worked for Sears in Taylor, Texas for 17 years, retiring in 1982. Hurshel and Ann moved to Mount Vernon in 1993. She was a member of First Baptist Church Mission Bible Fellowship class and a member of the Red Hat Society. Ann enjoyed crafts, making quilts and other homemade items. She loved to bake and always seemed to have a buttermilk pie or poppyseed coffee cake ready to share. She was always ready to go with family and friends who were amazed with her lipstick and not a hair out of place. Ann always wore a smile on her face and was always willing to give a helping hand to others. She had a generous heart and loved her family and friends fiercely and it showed through all she did for them.
She is survived by her son, James G. Bales and wife, Ida; nephew, David Anderson and wife, Robbin and their children and grandchildren; niece, Susan Cochran and her children and grandchildren; brother, Gene Gelner and wife, Ruth and their children and grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Hurshel Luck; her parents, Emil and Annie Gelner; sisters, Lillie Anderson, Elsie Von Stosch, and Louise Gelner; and an infant brother, Edmond Gelner; and a nephew, Ronald Cochran.
