Bettie Ruth Bohler, of Mount Vernon, Texas, gained her beautiful angel wings on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, at the age of 81.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Ed and Dorthy Sikes; her brothers, Jackie Sikes, Edgar Sikes, Howard Sikes, and Phillip Sikes; and sisters, Linda Miller and Dorothy Faye Sikes; her grandchildren, Heather Isbell, Jerry Isbell; and her great grandson, Camden Dale Lewis.
Bettie was born in Paris, Texas on November 28, 1942, to Ed and Dorothy (Thomas) Sikes. She married the love of her life, Richard Lloyd Bohler, on May 26, 1962.
Bettie worked as a Dietician at the Mount Vernon hospital for 28 years, making friends that became family. She adored being surrounded by her big family and spoiling all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing card games and Bingo with family and friends. She was also well known for her famous homemade biscuits. Bettie was known for her loving and kind spirit, that all of her family and friends will cherish and hold with them forever.
She is survived by her loving spouse of sixty-two years, Richard Lloyd Bohler; their six children and their spouses, Mark and Charity Bohler, Linda Isbell, Rhonda and J.B. Bass, Michael and Darla Bohler, Holly Vaughn and Wesley Glasco, and Michelle Erdle; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ann Norwood; sisters-in-law, Sharon Sikes; Mary Sue Jones, and Linda Sikes; brother-in-law, Floyd Miller. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
There will be a memorial service on November 2, 2024, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m.
