Betty Rae Smith

Betty Rae Smith, age 82, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at her home.

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Cody Poe officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Betty was born on April 23, 1938 in Mullinville, Kansas to Raymond and Goldie “Doyle” Hoff.  She married Richard J. Smith on June 27, 1957 in Pratt, Kansas.  Betty was dental assistant and later worked as a dental office assistant.  She was a member of the Church of Christ church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Richard Smith; great grandchild, Maverick Poe; brother, Elwin Hoff, sisters, Zella Lampkin, Velma Robertson, Violet Bosley.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Kathyrn (Richard) Dalby of Mesquite, TX, Terri (Eric) Poe of Mount Vernon, TX, Tammy (Frank) Butler of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Dalby, Kristina Evans, Kayla Evans, Richie Dalby, Cody Poe, Trey Poe, Nicholas Poe, Russ Butler, Madison Andrews; Great grandchildren, Hunter Stanton, Caroline Stanton, Kennedy Stanton, Emery Poe, Ellison Poe, and Ashlyn Butler; sister, Ruth Ann Hamm of Pauls Valley, OK.
