Bobbie Nell Matthews

Bobbie Nell Matthews, age 77, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00. Interment will be at the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.

Bobbie was born on May 6, 1944 to Robert and Nell Ruth (Thomas) Clark in Mt. Vernon, Texas.  Bobbie was a "war baby" and was born a month before her father was killed in the Invasion of Normandy. She married Rex Matthews on December 15, 1961 in Franklin County, Texas.  Bobbie was a homemaker, avid bird watcher, and love to gardening. She moved around a lot since her husband was in Air Force.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Billy M Burns; husband, Rex Doyle Matthews; daughters, Kim Matthews, Tammy Winch; grandson, Jonathon Wolfe Winch; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Burns and James “Tim” Burns; sister; Billie Ruth Hamrick.

Bobbie is survived by her son and his wife, Robert and Elsa Matthews of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Kristina Matthews of Pittsburg, TX. 6 grandchildren, Jeff Bender, Jason Bender, Drake Winch all of Colorado Springs, CO, Sean Matthews, Michelle Matthews both of Rockwall, TX, Raven Matthews of Pittsburg, TX; sister, Betty Burns Delaney and husband, Daniel of Houghton, LA.
