Bobbie Jo Mills

Bobbie Jo Mills, age 89, of Mount Vernon, Texas (formerly of Colleyville) passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025. 

Bobbie was born on June 20, 1936, in Sulphur Springs, to the late William Alan Sanders and Clara Estelle Robison. Bobbie married the love of her life Jerry Mills on December 24, 1953, in Hugo, Oklahoma. They shared 61 years of raising a family and living a lifetime of memories. In their free time, Jerry and Bobbie loved traveling with the Newmar Motorhome Club. Bobbie also enjoyed canning, walking, and tending to her flowers.  Bobbie retired as a credit manager for Sears after 30 plus years of dedicated service. Bobbie was a member of Blodgett Church of Christ.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving husband; cherished son, Mark; her son-in-law, Tommy Nix; her parents; brother Jimmy and sister Patsy; and her beloved dog, Chloe.

Bobbie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Nix of Justin, TX and Julie Hoover and husband, Scott, of Hurst, TX; daughter-in-law Judy, and six grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  The Graveside service will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
