Christopher Patrick Blanton

Christopher Patrick Blanton, age 32, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Funeral Services for Chris will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, Texas with Pastor Pepper Puryear officiating.   There will be a come and go visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Chris was born on August 11, 1987 in Florence, South Carolina to Calvin Blanton and Patsy Gibson Blanton.  Chris Married Krysten Duprey on June 10, 2012 in Pickton, Texas and they have two beautiful daughters, Lilly and Maddie.

Chris started working for the Brookshire company at the age of 19 and worked in many positions and served as the assistant manager of three stores.  He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, TX.  Chris is well known for his quirky smile and was a friend to everyone he met.  Chris enjoyed doing anything and everything outside, being everyone's weatherman and "storm chasing" as he called it so he could always get the awesome storm shots on his drone.  His greatest joy was being a father and a husband. 

He is preceded in death by his great grandparents William and Wilma Rhodus; grandparents, William and Christine Gibson, Calvin Blanton I, and Judy Hewett Blanton.

Chris is survived by his wife of eight years, Krysten; daughters, Lillian Blanton and Madelyn Blanton all of Mount Vernon, TX; father, Calvin Blanton II and wife Marcia of Florence, SC; mother, Patsy Gibson Blanton of Mount Vernon, TX; brother, William Blanton of Mount Vernon, TX; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ross and Jennifer Mackey; sister-in-law, Julia Romans and husband Brady of Cumby, TX; step-sisters, Tabitha Long of Anna, TX, Stephanie Mosier of Anna, TX; grandparents, Gene and Christine Duprey of Rowlett, TX.
