Christopher Lee Gentry, age 44, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Galveston, Texas.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Texas. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Roy Conatser and J.P. Perez officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Jumper, Michael Key, Greg Treadway, Michael Johnson, Cory Gentry, and Brian Buchanon. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Walding and Roger West. Interment will follow at the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery.
Chris was born on February 25, 1978 in Greenville, Texas to Ricky Leon and Debra Lynn (Martin) Gentry. He drove a truck and worked in transportation. Chris loved to camp and being outdoors. Chris served in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ernest and Lucille Gentry and grandmother, Patricia Ann Martin.
Chris is survived by his parents Rick and Debbie Gentry of Scroggins, Texas; son, Colton Gentry who is serving in the U.S. Army; daughter, Kristen Gentry of Tyler, Texas; grandfather, Harold Gene Martin of Greenville, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
