David Wiliams Obituary

David Williams, 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2026, after a five-month battle with cancer.

Born on January 17, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, David was the only child of Eugene and Flora (Cox) Williams. He graduated from North Texas State University and later earned his law degree from the SMU School of Law. David built a respected legal career practicing in Dallas.

He was deeply committed to service and community. For many years, he was an active member of Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers and volunteered weekly for 24 years as an Ambassador at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. David was also devoted to Alcoholics Anonymous, where he celebrated his 58th anniversary of sobriety on January 27, 2026, surrounded by friends and fellow members.

David is survived by his daughter, Michele Williams of California.

A lifelong traveler, David visited all seven continents, forming friendships wherever he went. He had a remarkable ability to stay connected with others, sending hundreds of holiday messages and gifts each year. He was passionate about supporting others, including decades of involvement in prison ministries, sponsoring students, and helping young people pursue educational and travel opportunities.

David maintained an active lifestyle, with a particular dedication to exercise, and had a deep appreciation for fine food. He especially enjoyed East Texas peaches, visits to the Mt. Vernon Cake Lady Bakery, and exploring Asian cuisine throughout the Dallas metroplex.

More than anything, David will be remembered for the countless lives he touched. To those who knew him, he was a friend—always.

He will be laid to rest with his parents at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas, on April 20, 2026, in a private service.
