Della Elizabeth Barron

Della Elizabeth “Beth” (Mills) Barron, age 86, of Mount Vernon, Texas. passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Beth was born January 24, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, to John Thaxton and Thelma Gay (Horton) Mills. She married M.L. Barron on June 16, 1956. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. Beth had a used furniture business that was named the “Whatever Store”. She also worked as an aide in the school system.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, M.L. Barron; infant son, Miles Leslie Barron; her parents, Thaxton and Thelma Mills; her sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Norma Jean Draper; brother, Jerry Mills; and brother-in-law, Don Yates.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Myron Barron, Marsha Kite, and Michael Barron; grandchildren, Chance Murray, Brandon Barron, and Adlee Barron; sister, Polly Yates; sister-in-law, Bobbie Mills; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Martin officiating.
