Dona Lynn Dimsdle

Dona Lynn Dimsdle, age 74 of Cumby, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Tyler, Texas surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Oasis Fellowship Church Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Bobby Berger officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.

Dona was born in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Cisco Ward and Hazel Marguerite “Underwood” Ward on September 6, 1949.

She married Royce L. Dimsdle in Dallas, Texas on December 2, 1978.  They enjoyed 44+ years of love sharing that love with many members of their adopted and extended family.  She had a rich life of love and family.

Dona was preceded in death by her mother and father and most recently her best friend and sister, Linda Hathaway. 

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Royce; nephews and their spouses, Charles and Marsha Elkins, David and Angie Elkins; a large extended family including many adopted children and grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Dona’s love of life was legendary, she said what she meant and meant what she said.  She was sassy and sweet with so much love in her heart, which she wanted to share with everyone, making new friends wherever she went. 

Dona's zest for life was a reminder to us all that it's perfectly okay to be a little bit "crazy" and embrace the beautiful, unconventional aspects of our personalities.
