Donald Wayne Davidson, Sr.

Donald Wayne Davidson, Sr., age 61, of Wylie, Texas, passed on Monday, June 22, 2026, at his home.

Donnie was born on April 26, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, to Jerry Don and Lois Jean (Gilmore) Davidson. He married Angela Marie Blackstock on December 15, 1989, in Wylie. Donnie worked for Oldcastle Building Envelope in Terrell, Texas, for 45 years.

Donnie was a quiet man whose presence spoke louder than words. Though he was reserved by nature, he possessed a remarkable knowledge of current events and always seemed to have an interesting fact or insight to share. He was someone who took care of those around him, offering his support, wisdom, and kindness whenever it was needed.

Donnie had a special love for animals and found joy in the companionship of cats, dogs, turtles, and all creatures great and small. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching science fiction and western movies and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. One of his most memorable moments was winning season tickets during the Cowboys' most recent season —an experience he treasured even more because he shared those tickets with family and friends.

Known for never wanting to throw anything away, Donnie could often be found saving empty boxes and items that others might overlook, always believing they might be useful someday. He was also the family's chef, taking great pride in preparing meals and bringing loved ones together around the table.

Above all else, Donnie's greatest joy was his family. The light of his life was his wife and his children, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. His devotion to them was evident in everything he did, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Davidson, Lois Michelli; mother/father-in-law, Don and Dolores Blackstock; and niece, Wendi Turrell.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Angie Davidson; his children, Donald Wayne Davidson, Jr. (DJ) and Kayla Davidson; his brother, Gary Davidson; and many cherished nieces and nephew. Among them, Savannah, Zane, and Reyna, who held a special place in his heart, having grown up alongside his children as part of the family.

Donnie's quiet strength, caring heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 11:00-1:00 at Lavon Assembly of God Church and the Funeral Service will immediately follow at Lavon Assembly of God Church – 301 Main Street – Lavon, TX 75166. Interment will immediately follow at Nevada Cemetery - Hwy 6 - Nevada, TX. Rev. Daniel Williams, Pam Barnard and Savannah Peralta officiating. Pallbearers will be Savannah Peralta, Sam Peralta, Zane Delgadillo, Reyna Delgadillo, Joshua Rodriguez, and Travis Hall.  Honorary Pallbearer Grace Vella and Sarah Davidson.
