Ernest Gene Tanton

Ernest Gene Tanton, age 80, of Weaver, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral from 10-11:00 a.m. Graveside service will follow at 12:00 at the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery.  C.J. Duffey from Choice Hospice will be officiating.

Gene was born on November 28, 1940 to the late E.D. “Gene” and Mary Opal (Dawson) Tanton in Sulphur Spring, Texas.  He married Linda Patterson on May 23, 1991 in Oklahoma.  Gene worked as a fireman and retired from the Dallas Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Linda Tanton of Saltillo, Texas; son, Jeff and wife, Debi of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Steve Gibralter of Rockwall, Texas; son, Justin and wife, Letitia Ashby of Ft. Worth, Texas. Granddaughters, Jackie, Jill, Ashley, Natalie, April and Shannon; great grandchildren, Austin, Braden and Edith.
