Flossie Ruth Ottinger

Flossie Ruth Ottinger, age 93, of the Hagansport Community, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Mount Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark DeYong officiating at the Hagansport Cemetery.

Ruth was born on June 18, 1930, in Franklin County, Texas to James Monroe and Flossie (Creacy) Elliott. She was married to Walton Ottinger. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star and Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walton Ottinger; parents, James Monroe and Flossie Elliott; granddaughter, Stacy Michelle Kennedy; 2 brothers, Lloyd Elliott and Marvin Elliott.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Ottinger; grandchildren, Michael Craig Ottinger, Richard Ottinger, Latrica Ottinger, Candace Page Througmorton, Dan Barker, Chevy Barker, Erica Barker, Laytner Kennedy, and Layker Kennedy; and sister, Juanita Fowler.
