Gene Davis Harrod

Gene Davis Harrod of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 87.

Gene was born on December 4, 1937, in Linden, Texas, to Herman and Erbye Harrod. He graduated from Linden High School then pursued further education at Draughon Business College in Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Erbye Harrod; his two brothers, Roland Marnel Harrod and Charles Lynn Harrod; and son-in-law Gary Burnaman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Edna Davis Harrod; 2 children and their families, Genea Burnaman and Ginger & Gary Lyon; grandchildren, Ashley (DJ) Jester, Seth (Lauren) Burnaman, Jared (Grace) Lyon, and Jeremy (Kirstin) Lyon. He also leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren and extended family.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 2:30p.m. at Purley Baptist Church Cemetery, with Brother Pablo Guzman officiating.
