Gerald Jeffrey McManamy, of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 70.
Gerald was born on August 10, 1955, to James Lee and Peggy Lutterall McManamy in Ft. Worth, Texas. He married Glenda Favors on April 8, 1989, in Winnsboro, Texas.
Gerald was an active and devoted member of his community, deeply involved with the Franklin County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo and the Handicapable Rodeo. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially fishing, and was a proud member of the local kayaking club. Gerald also generously gave his time as a volunteer and camp host in Daingerfield, where he was well-loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Glenda McManamy; his daughter, Christa, and her husband, Garrett Gilbreath; his son, Justin Kirkman; and his cherished grandchildren, Hailey and Dustin Basinger, Morgan Gilbreath and Colton Rader, and James and Bailee Kirkman; three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy and her husband, James Smith; his brother, Charles and wife, LaVonda McManamy; his brother, Travis and wife, Geneva Hopkins; his sister, Sally and husband, Travis Reynolds; his aunt, Jeffie and her husband Roger Albrant; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge with Tommy Rocca officiating.
