Glenda was born on March 25, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Texas, she was the heart of our family, a woman of incredible strength, unwavering kindness, and boundless generosity. She was extraordinarily beautiful inside and out, with red hair, bright green eyes, and warmth that drew people in. To know her was to be cared for, to be valued, and to be loved deeply.
She lived a life of quiet courage, and selflessness, always putting her family and others before herself. Glenda was the rock of our family, offering steady love, sound wisdom, and a safe place in every storm. She made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She married John Mitchell, the love of her life, in Mount Vernon. Their bond was something rare, genuine, steady, and unconditional that surpassed all time. Together they built a beautiful home filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Although he passed before her it brings us peace to know he was there to welcome her home. Glenda devoted her life to her family and took immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her seven children who will carry her memory and her strength with them always; Rebecka Bryant, Sundy Roberts, Sondra Moody and husband, Daniel Moody, Cindy Moss, Tony Mitchell and wife Iryna, Amber Umbaugh and Keith Newman, Johnna Mitchell, and Breezy Mitchell, and adopted daughter, Deborah Price; 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband, John Mitchell; her mother, Thelma Elliott; and her father, George Elliott.
