James Timothy Burns

James Timothy Burns, age 68 of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Tyler, Texas at the Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home. He served in the US Army, 1972 - 1974 in the 3/61st, Armored Division, Spearhead, Germany. (Missiles)

He was a descendant of some of the earliest setters of the republic of Texas, the  Burns, Parchman and Scott Families.

James (Tim) was born to Billy Merle Burns and Nell Ruth Thomas on December 11,1952 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard Malcom Burns (Dickie) and sister, Billie Ruth Burns Hamrick. 

James is survived by his sisters, Bettye Burns Delaney and her husband, Daniel F. Delaney of Houghton, Louisiana and Bobbie Nell Clark Matthews of Mount Pleasant, Texas.  He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Sam B. Harvey Home at 1:00 pm with Bro. Pepper Puryear officiating. Pallbearers will be close friends and relatives. Interment will at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.
