James Hogue

James Bartlett Hogue, Jr. age 78 of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at his residence.

He was born on May 14,1947 in Carroll County, Georgia to James Bartlett and Annie Christine (Lassiter) Hogue.

James married Deborah Tinsley in 1969, she preceded him in death in April 2025. He was an electrician by trade.

He is survived by his children with their nicknames; Steano, JR, Raylett, Guts and Roller Derby.

Christina Hogue, James and wife, Jacqueline Hogue, Sarah and husband, Ian Pearson, Brandon Hogue, and John Hogue; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, David, John, Debbie and Ann; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Deborah; his parents, James and Christine Hogue; a daughter, Barbara Jean Hogue.

No formal services will be held.
