James "Jim" Harry Barnes

James (Jim) Harry Barnes age 87, of Carrolton, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Jim was born to James Kelly Barnes and Edith Hall Barnes on March 18, 1938, in Murphy, North Carolina.

Jim married the love of his life, Janice Humphrey on July 27, 1967, in Irving, Texas.

Jim was a member of First Baptist Church- Mount Vernon for many years and was a member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. Jim loved the outdoors, hunting and sports of all kinds. He was a Mason.

Jim was a computer programmer and a Medical Information Technician, teaching others how to use the system all over the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jan; daughter, Deborah; sister, Patsy Robinson; brother, Randall (Carol) Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews.

 A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Pastor Pepper Puryear and Bobby Broughton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at 1:00 pm.

There will be a private Inurnment at Bogata Cemetery at a later date.
