It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Janie Logan, who left us peacefully on January 1, 2025. Janie was a woman of extraordinary warmth, generosity, and love. She was the epitome of grace, and her light shone brightly through her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her passion for serving others.
Janie was born to Bishop Marcus and Mary Christine Ramsey and grew up with a heart full of compassion and an undeniable talent for hospitality. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, always offering a kind word, a delicious meal, or a comforting presence. Her love for people was matched only by her deep love for animals, and she found great joy in the company of her horses, her cowgirl friends, and any creature she encountered.
As a devoted wife to Bo Logan, mother to Stephanie and Christopher, step son Wade, and beloved grandmother to Zachary, Abigail, Olivia, Camberlee, Lawrence, Madilyne, and Garrett, Janie’s family was the center of her life. She poured her heart into her relationships, and her legacy of love, laughter, and fierce protection of those she cherished will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Janie was also a faithful servant of the Lord. Her devotion to Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, and she faithfully contributed her time and energy to the Shoebox Ministry for Samaritan’s Purse, sending love and prayers to children around the world. She believed in the power of giving and made it her mission to share her blessings with others, always with a humble heart. She was a faithful member of her Bible study group and church New Beginnings Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, TX. She loved the ladies of her Bible study group.
She also loved her dog Baxter! As a trained therapy dog, Janie would take Baxter to local nursing homes and assisted living facilities to cheer up the residents and bring smiles to their faces.
Additionally, Janie was a cowgirl at heart! She could often be found on the back of a horse with Bo or her cowgirl friends.
Her generosity extended beyond her ministry work. Whether it was helping a neighbor, supporting a friend, or caring for an animal in need, Janie’s heart was ever expansive, and her kindness knew no bounds.
Janie’s passing leaves a profound emptiness, but her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. She was a true example of love in action, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
In honor of the life and memory of our beloved Janie Ramsey Logan, her family and friends request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to award a scholarship in her name. This scholarship will be presented in May 2025 to a student pursuing a passion for agriculture, animal care studies, or veterinary practices continuing Janie’s enduring love for animals.
