Kay Frazier Obituary

Patricia Kay Frazier entered the presence of her heavenly father on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the young age of 76. She was born on August 22,1948, to William Ray (Billy) Chester and Hilga (Blount) Chester in Hopkins County. Kay was raised in Sulphur Bluff where she graduated high school as Salutatorian of her class.

She married her high school sweetheart Zack Frazier June 17, 1966.  They were blessed with two daughters, Angie and Kellie.  They owned a dairy farm where she actively milked cows, fed livestock, worked the hayfield and everything that went along with managing a dairy. Kay later attended Northeast Texas Community College where she received her cosmetology degree while continuing to operate the dairy.  She became a hairdresser to follow in her mom’s footsteps. She was one of the hardest working women you ever met, and she passed that work ethic and independence along to her girls.

In 1992, Kay married Gene Frazier, and they enjoyed attending rodeos, raising horses and were members of the Sulphur Springs Corvette Club where they loved competing in car shows. They were also members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse.

She was a God-fearing woman and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Mt Pleasant.  To know her was to love her. She loved to travel and be outdoors whether it was cruising in her Corvette or working in her flowerbeds.  Kay was actively involved in the Mt Vernon Chamber of Commerce and served on the board for several years. She was always dressed to the nines from head to toe; she even had a matching koozie for every outfit.  Her family was her pride and joy. Meme loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events.  Basketball was her favorite as she was an avid player herself.

Kay was still actively working at Just Teasin’ Salon part time where she had many beloved customers and friends.  She was a top consultant in her Mary Kay unit for 19 years.   Her legacy of family first and unconditional love will live on through us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene of 23 years, her parents, her granddaughter Kaleigh Horn, and grandson CT Penny.

Survivors to cherish her memory; her constant and faithful companion Mickey; her daughters Angie Frazier of Mt. Vernon and Kellie Davis and husband Keith of Mt Pleasant; grandchildren and their spouses, Ashley and Kenneth Sparks, Amberlie Penny, Caden and Rebekah Penny, Nikki and Zack Mottu, Kayren and Lane Milsap, Lindsey and Hyatt McMurrey,  Lane and Amber Davis, Lance and Brandi Bass, and Ashley Bass; great grandchildren Major and Kingston McCoo, Conner, Cortlyn, Colter, Caisley and Nash Penny, MarLeigh Mottu, Jaxson and Maddox Milsap, Ryleigh Davis, Kennady McMurrey and Hannah Sparks; great great grandchildren Caleb Coffey and Kayden Sparks; sisters Myrna Cook, Corlette and Gerald Garner, Frankie Cooper and friend, Ken Greer; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
