Leonard E. Davis

Leonard E. Davis, age 73, of Saltillo, Texas passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Greenville, Texas.

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Weaver Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with the memorial service following at 11:30 a.m. with Father Dunne officiating.

Leonard was born on December 9, 1948 to Dayrold and Evelyn Mary (Braun) Davis in Hobart, Oklahoma. He graduated Hobart High School, where he excelled in track. He attended SW OSU where he was instrumental in creating their computer science program. After graduation, he was drafted into the army and served in South Korea during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He then began his computer career as a computer engineer.

He married Edna Sue Killingsworth on May 5, 2000 in Plano, Texas. He loved flying airplanes and was a private pilot.  Leonard enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing with his dogs.  His grandchildren were his happiness and joy.  Leonard always cherished his time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-niece, Karli Fegel.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Sue Davis; sons, Jason and wife, Trisha Davis and Weldon Tully; daughters, Jennifer and husband, Ben  Sharon, Tammy and husband, Michael Schmeltz, and Michelle Spear. Sister, Sharon and husband, L.F. Fegel; brother, Greg Davis. 10 grandchildren, Owen Davis, Haley Davis, Ava Sharon, Cruise Sharon, Amanda and husband, Eric Salazar, Andrew and wife Vanessa Schmeltz, Brandon and wife, Janae Bartlett, Chaeli Spear, Josalyn Spear, and Trevor Spear. 6 great grandchildren, Maycie Bartlett, Maddux Bartlett, Vivi Schmeltz, Rory Schmeltz, Arlo Salazar, Moe Salazar; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
