Lewis Moren Obituary

Lewis Carl Moren, age 93, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and the funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Martin officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Moren, Richard Moren, Cannon Moren, Cade Moren and Jon Busbee. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Sears, Nat Paul Gibbs and Bobby Elbert. Interment will be at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.

Lewis was born on December 1, 1928 to Carl Moren and Mattie Bryant Moren in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  On March 14, 1964, he married the love of his life, Sandra Sue Swank, and shared over 51 years of marriage together before her passing in 2015. Lewis served in the United States Marines and was honorable discharged. He loved to volunteer at the Franklin County Food Bank. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon and served as a deacon. Lewis was a member of the Jack Henry Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra Moren; brother, Jack Moren and his sister, Cassie Moren.          

Survivors include his two sons, Jerry Moren and wife, Maurcie of Corpus Christi, Texas and Richard Moren of Granby, Colorado; two grandsons, Cannon Moren and Cade Moren of Corpus Christi, Texas.         

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon or to the Franklin County Food Bank.
