Loyde Stanley Smith

Loyde Stanley Smith, age 77, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Loyde was born on November 1, 1943 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Robert “Cleo” and Linnie “Pete” Smith. Loyde spent many years ranching and being a cowboy in Oklahoma. He had a love for horses, westerns and the outdoors like no other. When he wasn’t riding a good horse, you could find him working on a project. Loyde spent several years as a safety contractor and loved to tell everyone how to do things his way. The last several years of his life were spent being an inspiration to any and all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Fransis, Patsy and Leeann; brother Sammy.

Loyde is survived by his partner, Deborah Baldwin of Mount Vernon, TX; sons, Jeremy Smith of Blossom, TX and wife Leah, Chris Smith of Paris, TX; daughters, Cheyenne Palermo of Forest Hill, LA and husband Andrew, Dakota Smith of Pollock, LA, Sierra Johnson of Pollock, LA and husband Hobie and Georgette Vance of Whitehouse, TX and husband Colton; sisters Sheila Hodge of Mount Pleasant, TX and husband Milton and Vicki Bratcher of Georgetown, SC and husband Tony; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and other extended family.
