Margaret Lorene Arnett went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Margaret was born on October 2, 1934, to Albert Lee and Francis Lorene (Wheat) Arnett in Corsicana, Texas.
She graduated from Trinidad High School and continued her education through several colleges earning her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at Dallas. Margaret earned a Certification in Spiritual Direction from Southern Methodist University. She worked and lived in Dallas for most of her adult life. She later moved to Mount Vernon to be closer to her family.
Margaret was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Oaklawn Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas where she volunteered most days when needed. After moving, she joined the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Diana Kay Arnett.
She is survived by 1 brother and sister-in-law, G.A. “Buddy” and LaVerne Arnett of Mount Vernon, TX; 3 nephews, Mark and Lisa Arnett of Slaughter, LA, Tracy and Cindy Arnett of Mount Vernon, TX, and Cody and Melissa Arnett of Mount Vernon, TX. Numerous great-nephews and nieces, and great great nephew and nieces.
Graveside services will be held at Chinquapin Family Cemetery in Walton, Van Zandt County, Texas on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
