Mary Jane (Janie) Bynum

Funeral services for Mary Jane (Janie) Bynum, age 63, of Mount Vernon will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 7, 2020 at Sam B. Harvey Chapel with Stephen Cotton and John Hicks officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M.  Pallbearers will be Richard Hughes, Jason Hughes, Colton Hughes, Ryan James, James Robert Campbell and Mike Rader.

Janie was born on November 26, 1956 to Gaines Hughes and Jo Ann Bowden Hughes in Mount Pleasant, TX.  Janie and the love of her life, Danny Bynum, were married on September 20, 1984.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon and loved working as a caregiver at the Rainbow Connection.  She enjoyed watching TV and gardening.

Janie was preceded in death by her father, Gaines Hughes.

Those left to cherish her memory will be her husband of 35 years, Danny; mother, Jo Ann Hughes of Mount Vernon, Texas; daughter, Holly Bynum and Joe Parson of Paris, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Hughes and wife, Rita of Mount Vernon, Texas and Joe Hughes of Irving, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Chambers Hospice or the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon in Janie’s memory.
