Mason Spencer Huddleston age 26, of Mount Vernon, Texas, was carried to his home in heaven by our Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
Mason was born August 26,1999, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Mark and Amy (Spencer) Huddleston. From the moment he entered the world, his presence became a unifying light for his family. At times, when life felt uncertain and hope was not always easy to find, his bright, golden smile, brought comfort, connection, and a renewed sense of possibility. He brought loved ones together in a way that was deeply meaningful, creating bonds that have grown stronger with time, and offering, even his older relatives, a clearer and better perspective on life.
As he grew, he continued to embody that same light. He showed remarkable dedication, a strong work ethic, and a quiet resilience that made him not only successful, but a deep and abiding source of pride for his family and all who knew and loved him.
He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2018 and went on to attend Texas A&M University. During his time there, he embraced new experiences and approached each challenge with strong determination. In 2022, he earned his Mechanical Engineering degree, a reflection of his perseverance and commitment.
He began his professional career with Kubota in Grapevine, Texas, but his love for home soon called him back to East Texas. There, he continued his work with Big Tex Trailers in Mount Pleasant, building a life rooted in the people and place that meant the most to him.
Mechanically gifted, he loved breathing new life into old cars and quickly volunteered to help anyone diagnose and fix their automobiles. Buddies routinely received Marketplace listings for needed automobile parts and dream project cars. A tinkering session in the garage placed Mason in his “happy place”.
Mason’s bright smile and an even more radiant spirit spread the warmth of kindness into every corner of his life. Truly a God given gift, his generous heart of service extended the love of Christ wherever he went.
This precious soul is survived by his parents, Mark and Amy Huddleston; siblings, Andrew and Melanie; Grandparents, Frank and Fran Huddleston; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins as well as countless friends whose lives were touched by someone so special.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, Marvin and Wilda Huddleston, Betty and Wesley Oldham; Grandparents, Benjamin and Florence Spencer; aunts, Goldie Crunk, Deborah Graves and Elizabeth Spencer; and uncle, Mike Graves.
The world around us feels dimmer with the sudden loss of Mason, but we pray the legacy of love left in those who knew him will rekindle the flames and the light of Christ expand and shine even brighter than before as we celebrate the gift that was his life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon.
