Nancy passed away peacefully to join The Lord in Heaven on October 18, 2025, after living with Alzheimer’s for the last 16 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Dolan and her brother Donald Dolan.
Nancy was born on March 3, 1938, in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from St Joseph’s Academy where she was active in their drama club. She loved acting in plays. Nancy graduated from college with a degree in Sociology.
She was an excellent artist as a painter, an etcher, and a sculptor. Many women in her adult life described her as “The Sweetest Lady They Ever Met."
While living in Downers Grove, she helped start the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program for DuPage County. She also served as a Welcome Wagon Hostess, was a columnist for the Downers Grove Paper, and Room Mother at the school for her four sons.
After moving to Dallas, TX she served as President of the North Dallas Women’s Newcomers organization. She volunteered with the Literary group to help adults who could not read learn how to read. She wrote and had published a book “Flippen Phonics” to help the learning process.
She moved to Lake Cypress Springs in retirement, there she served as President of the Tall Tree Women’s Club. and was active in the Arts Alliance group.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Lawrence (Larry); sons, Lawrence, Daniel, David , Robert (Sonia); grandsons, Franko and Gabriel; her sister, Mary Joe Dolan; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Her funeral service will be on October 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, Texas.
