Nancy Lillian Thames

Nancy Crowell Thames passed away November 20, 2019 at the age of 79.  She was born on December 6, 1939 in Mobile, AL. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Allen Crowell and Nan Jo Green Crowell, brothers John (Jack) Crowell and Glenn Crowell, and son Michael Wayne Thames.

Nancy grew up in Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL.  Nancy married Wayne Thames in 1960. As an Air Force wife she lived in many states until retiring in Mount Vernon, TX in 1987.  Nancy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, TX where she was very active in music and other ministries.  

Nancy is survived by her husband Harry Wayne Thames, son David Thames and his wife Nel, daughter Ginger Venteicher and her husband Ernie, her brother Allen Crowell and his wife Phyllis, two nieces, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, 522 TX 37, Mount Vernon, TX 75457.
