Nell B Phetteplace

Nell Beth (Twombly) Phetteplace, age 78, of Talco, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Nell was born on January 2, 1947, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to George C. and Swany (Grabeal) Twombly. She was raised in Griggs, Oklahoma. On June 12, 1966, she married the love of her life, Gilbert Phetteplace, and they shared 59 wonderful years together.

Nell was a standout student and athlete, earning four letters in basketball and graduating as the valedictorian of her class. She went on to earn a degree in accounting and was a successful business owner. Nell was known for her dedication, intelligence, and strong work ethic. She was involved with the Grey County 4- H program for 15 years as a leader, mentor and instructor.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nell is survived by her loving husband, Gilbert “Gil” Phetteplace; her sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Penny Phetteplace, and Enoch and Stacey Phetteplace; her daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Chad Baugh; her grandsons, Patrick Phetteplace, Nolan Phetteplace, Daniel Baugh, Connal Baugh, and Joshua Baugh; and her brother, Lon Twombly.

A memorial service will be held on February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sulphur River Cowboy Church, with Corey Johnson officiating.
