Orvin Roy LaForce, Sr., age 85, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Tyler, Texas.

 A family led Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at 2978 FM 115 – Mount, Vernon, TX.

Orvin was born on November 11, 1938, in Mount Vernon to Lonnie Oscar and Vida Grace (Howard) LaForce.  He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Mercedes Moya.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Grace LaForce; a son, Dorvin LaForce; a brother, Sonny Brown; and a sister, Joyce Lucas.

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes LaForce; sons, Orvin Roy LaForce, Jr., Darwin Ray (Melissa) LaForce, and Harold Wayne LaForce; a daughter, Shirley Ruth LaForce; grandchildren, Jackson Royce LaForce and Merida Alease LaForce; brother, Wayne (Connie) LaForce; and a sister, Loyce Thomson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
