Peggy Jane (Campbell) Cargile

Peggy Jane Cargile, 98 of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away, early Friday morning, July 21, 2023.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 24, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Shiles Hubbell officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon City Cemetery.

Peggy was born September 13, 1924, to John and Cora (Godwin) Campbell in Mount Vernon, Texas. She married James Marcus (Bill) Cargile on March 16, 1946, in Franklin County, Texas. Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons, Kent Cargile and Kelly Cargile.

She is survived by her son, Keith and wife, Catherine Cargile; grandchildren, Kurt and wife, Sarah Cargile, Krystal Nix, Kendra and husband, Scott Lee, Kodi and husband, Matt Story, Kyle and wife, Katie Cargile, Kelley and husband, Kyle Mendez, Kacey and husband, Christian Lehrmann, 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rob and wife, Helen Campbell.
