Peggy Coffman Stutts passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 98. She was born on March 25, 1926, in Arlington, Texas and was a longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, having lived at Lake Cypress Springs for over 40 years.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Stutts and granddaughter, Caitlin Donahue. Peggy is survived by her children, Gail Stutts Harrell, husband Robert, Noel Stutts, Cynthia Stutts and Cheryl Stutts Sulla. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robin Linek, husband Brian, Noel Donahue, wife Bre, Jeremy Sulla, wife Kate, Jessica Sulla and her great- grandchildren, Daniel Sulla and Miles Linek.
She retired from Southwestern Bell after working for 36 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. Peggy also volunteered at the Franklin County Historical Association. She loved life, family, friends, animals and made the most of every moment.
Services are planned for Friday, October 18, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Hoke officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
