Robert (Bobby) Stroud, age 66, of Gilmer, Texas (formerly of Mount Vernon) passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Tyler, Texas.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Bobby was born to Luther and Evelyn (Colvin) Stroud on December 7, 1957, in Yreka, California. Prior to retirement, he was a heavy equipment operator. Bobby was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved watching all the grandchildren in their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Evelyn Stroud; sisters, Carolyn Simons and Susan Stroud; and brother, Ralph Stroud.
Survivors include his daughter, Heidi Barton of Mount Vernon; son, Luke Stroud and his wife, Jessica of Mount Pleasant. Grandchildren, Corbin May, Cohen Barton, Nora and Knox Stroud; siblings, Charity and Andy Cochran of Mount Vernon, James Stroud of Mississippi, Melinda Barber of Mississippi, and Tommy and Sherine Stroud of Mount Vernon; mother of his children, Gayle Peacock; sister-in-law, Carol Stroud and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Heidi and Luke would like to extend a special thank you to Charity and Andy Cochran for the special care they gave to Robert.
