Sandra June Hensley

Sandra June (Godsey) Hensley, age 79, of Mt. Vernon, Texas passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Abundant Grace Assembly of God Church in Mt. Vernon at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Mark Hamel will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Hensley, Shane Palmer, Shalon Palmer, Colby Olivella, Aaron Burton, and Greyson Mooney.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean Hensley and Sean Palmer.

June was born June 1, 1942 to Verdie Ernest Godsey and Dora Raynelle Ryan in Daingerfield, Texas.

She married Curtis Floyd Hensley on December 25, 1960 in Daingerfield, TX. They had 50 years of special memories until his death in 2011.

She is survived by her son, Curtis Ray Hensley and wife, Rhonda of Mt. Vernon, TX; two daughters, Sandra Carnell Burton and husband, Lynn of Sallisaw, OK, Sherry Lynn Palmer of Shreveport, LA; son, Stephen Helpenstill and wife, Pam of Friendswood, TX; brother, Ernest Ray Godsey, and wife, Linda of Ft. Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis F. Hensley; her daughter, Debbie Keeter; her parents, Frank & Dora Raynelle Marquardt; biological father, Buddy Godsey; sister, Wanda Snider.

Services are entrusted to Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home.
