Shanna R. Coker Place of Mount Vernon, Texas, received her wings on October 20, 2023, in Longview, TX.

Graveside services will be at Providence Cemetery on November 4, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dennis Martin officiating.

Shanna was born December 26, 1981, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a very caring person and had a heart of gold. Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family. Shanna loved to bake and decorate cakes; she had many friends. Shanna fought a liver disease for 5 long years -  she was a fighter. She passed away with her partner, Dan Newton, by her side.

Shanna was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lee Coker; a son, Caleb Lynn Matthews; grandmother, Barbara Lozinski and step grandfather, Joseph Lozinski; grandfather, Gerald Nevins.

Shanna leaves behind the love of her life, Dan Newton of Leesburg, TX; her mother, Kimberly Johnson of Mount Vernon; 3 brothers, Robert Robertson and wife, Necole Nekesia Robertson of Mount Vernon, TX, Jason Coker and wife Tiffany Coker of Paris, TX, Steven Coker and partner Jordan Anderson of Mount Vernon, TX. Her 3 aunts, Linda Lea Ginger of Mount Vernon, TX, Deborah Baldwin of Mount Vernon, TX and Darlene Zimmerman of Corpus Christi, TX; 2 uncles, Jim Johnston of Ontario, Canada and Lloyd Smith of Mount Vernon, TX; 4 nieces, Georgette Vance and Colton Vance of Mount Vernon, TX, Brooklyn Robertson of Mount Vernon, TX, Keiper Coker of Mount Vernon, TX, Jordyn Hooten of Emory, TX.  2 nephews, Ryan Coker of Paris, TX and Robert Robertson Jr. of Mount Vernon, TX. Cousins, Tamara Hoddinott of Ontario, Canada, Brianna Longhenry of Ontario Canada, Kel Woody of Ontario, Canada and a special friend for 17 years, Amber Carpenter of Mount Pleasant, TX, and her special pet, Booger of 16 years.
