Steven Robert Hill passed away on April 26th, 2021 at the age of 60 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on February 18th, 1961 in Big Springs, Texas to William Sherwood "Woody" and Marie Hill. After graduating from Rawlins High School in 1979, Steve worked at the uranium mines near Rawlins before beginning work as a coal miner in Colorado. He worked as a coal miner for thirty years. During that time he raised three children, Cody, Kendra, and Tyler Hill.
Steve married Mary Hill on August 3rd, 2013. The couple lived in Rawlins, Wyoming for several years before moving to Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Steve loved golf, his children, spending time with his wife, and a cold drink on a warm day - - preferably Bud Light. He was an avid Broncos fan and loved a number of movies, shows, and books. Steve owned a ranch for a number of years, an experience that instilled a love of the west, mountains, and cows.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Hill; mother, Marie Hill; children Cody Hill, Kendra (Ian) Hill, Tyler Hill, Natalie (Kevin) O'Grady, and Chelsea (Ryan) Hansen; siblings Kelly Hill, Kathy (Warren) Peterson, Karen (Todd) Wolfley; sisters-in-law Chris Glenz and Tink Day; a number of nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and good friends. He was preceeded in death by his father, Woody Hill and his grandparents.
A memorial and celebration of life - - where friends, family and loved ones can "have a cold one on Steve" - - will be held later this summer in Rawlins.
