William Robert Dennis, born on July 17, 1943, in Urban, IL to Roland Z and Frances (Konche) Dennis, and raised in Albuquerque, NM, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 81.
William was a proud Navy veteran. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and later pursued a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. William found his passion in the industry of surveying and CAD, working diligently as a Civil Engineer Tech for the USDA.
He was a member of the Old Saltillo Methodist Church.
Known for his sharpshooting skills and love for firearms, William had a special place in his heart for the outdoors. He cherished time spent in nature, hunting and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His dedication to his work and his country was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fiske Dennis; his parents, Roland and Frances Dennis; his grandparents, Earnest and Ella G. (Cobb) Dennis; his great-grandparents, Zebedee A and Zona A. (Nicholson) Dennis; Uncles, Wilson Bryan Dennis, Joe Earl and wife Clay Mac Dennis, and Ray Dennis; a cousin, Mary Zona Case.
William is survived by nephews, cousins, including Vivian Dennis-Monzingo; lifelong friends, Sanae Yata; caregiver/friend, Carmela Gomez and family. His memory will continue to live on in their hearts, a testament to the kind and caring man he was.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Saltillo Cemetery.
