I don’t really know if there are words to express how much I love and appreciate Pam, Ronnie and all of the staff. My son passed away May 14th. I had no clue how to proceed with arrangements. From the very first day, Pam and Ronnie made sure that I understood my choices and the process Pam kept in touch with me everyday. She asked how I was doing, she comforted me, she prayed with me and for me. We couldn’t have the service for almost a week due to his best friend not being able to come until then. Ronnie took such great care of my son, so we could see him everyday. Pam did an amazing job with everything for the service. She made sure to tell me that she didn’t care how many times I wanted to change something. The only thing she cared about was if I was happy with it. My son had a special bright soul. He was kind and considerate. There aren’t many people like him I will tell you Pam and Ronnie have that beautiful bright light in their souls. They are a true testament of God’s love and grace. I thank God that he led me to them, to care for my son and my family.

A grateful tribute to Sam B Harvey Funeral Home- There are no words deep enough to express what our family has been through the last 15 months. But even fewer to express our gratitude. In March of last year, my brother-in-law — my twin sister’s husband, my best friend for years — passed away. It shattered us. And it was Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, right here in our hometown of Mount Vernon, who came with such care and grace to take him into their hands. Their love and gentleness meant more than we could ever express. Then just 1 year later, on March 11th, my twin sister Christal gave birth to twin daughters at just 22 weeks. Tiny, beautiful, fiercely loved. One of them — baby Courtney — passed away after just 9 days on this earth. She only weighed 1lb 5oz. While we were in the NICU, two hours away from home, we reached out to every funeral home local to the Dallas NICU, only to be told that cremation for our tiny baby would cost anywhere from $500 to $2,000. It was devastating. We were grieving and at a loss. And then… Pamela Barnard from Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home reached out to us. She offered, without hesitation, to drive all the way to the NICU (2 hours) to bring baby Courtney home and handle everything — free of charge. No questions, no conditions — just love. Just Christ-like, selfless love. Today, our hearts are shattered all over again. Baby Christy, the other twin, passed away after fighting so hard for so long. And once again… Pamela and the Sam B. Harvey family stepped in — without us even needing to ask. They’re bringing Christy home now, with the same compassion, the same tenderness, the same generosity that leaves us absolutely speechless. There are people in this world who carry the presence of God in how they live, how they love, and how they serve. Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home is one of those rare places. They don’t just handle death — they walk families through the fire with grace and mercy. Our family will never forget what they’ve done for us. My family has used this Sam Harvey funeral home many times in the past, As I got older my grandmother past, and we where not ready nor prepaid. As we made the first phone call to them we were greeted with hospitality and respect any one could ask for. The next day as we arrived to make the arrangements was no different, they treated us as we were their family. Even the little kids with questions were answered where they could understand. Ronnie and Mrs. Pam , there are no words of how they took care of us on a personal, but professional level. These two people took the greatest care of me and my family at the worst of time.
